About the Event

Set within a monumental life-size installation by Swiss-based visual artists Encor Studios, Modalities of Me is a new ballet set to electronic music that explores how modern love is shaped and often distorted by the environments we move through: digital spaces, club culture, curated identities, and neoliberalist frameworks.

Alongside the performance, an exhibition on the same theme will feature works by renowned contemporary artists, including sculpture and multimedia installations, expanding the exploration of love, identity, and perception across different artistic forms.

The Performances

Tess Voelker is a Berlin-based dancer and choreographer whose career began with Ballett Dortmund before joining NDT 2 (2017) and later NDT (2020). She has created works for the Paris Opera Ballet, Ballet D’Jerri, and Eisenhower Dance Detroit, with a new creation for Ballett Dortmund premiering in spring 2026. For Modalities of Me, she presents a new solo work.

Ballet Sur_real, is the official ballet ensemble of DANCÆ, founded in 2023 by choreographers Soraya Schulthess and Renato De Leon. The ensemble’s work fuses classical ballet with electronic music, integrating immersive installations and innovative technologies into its choreographic language. Their creations draw on contemporary life while delving into the deeper psychological motives that drive human behavior.
