Our team has created pieces for renowned dance companies and performed works for the world’s leading choreographers and theaters including Mikhailovsky Theatre (Saint Petersburg, Russia), Deutsche Oper (Berlin, Germany), George Balanchine, John Neumeier, Semper Opera Ballet Company (Dresden, Germany), Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Jiri Kylian amongst others. Their knowledge and insight into what creates a captivating and visually stunning performance is key to DANCÆ’s success as a production entity.

Founder
Soraya Schulthess
Soraya Schulthess trained at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Russia and performed with the Boris Eifman Ballet in Saint Petersburg. She returned to Germany to work with Deutsche Oper in Berlin and pursue a second bachelor's degree in cultural studies. She has performed repertoire spanning from Marius Petipa and Mikhail Fokin to Jiri Killian and William Forsythe. In recent years, Soraya has shifted her focus towards blending dance with other art forms and breaking traditional boundaries to foster innovative creations. Currently, she works as a freelancer, dividing her time between Berlin and the US, where she continues to push the limits of dance and art integration.

Anna Okuneva
Anna Okuneva graduated from the Bolshoi ballet Academy of Moscow in 2007 and at the same year became a member of the Bolshoi Ballet Company. In 2013 was promoted as a soloist, in 2017 became a first soloist of Stanislavsky ballet company of Moscow. In her carrier she has worked with many contemporary choreographers such as Forsythe, Kylian, Ekman, Naharin, Goeke, Khan, McGregor etc.

Micheal Beliov
Mihael Belilov is a freelance professional dancer and artist originally from Varna, Bulgaria currently based in Berlin, Germany. Previously he has danced at the Mainfranken Theatre Würzburg, Victor Ullate Ballet, Theater Dormtund, Theater Magdeburg,Tanztheater Innsbruck, Tivoli Ballet and the Royal Danish Ballet. Throughout his dance career he has worked with choreographers such as Nacho Duato,Marco Goecke,Mauro Bigonzetti,Andreas Heise,Victor Ullate,Gonzalo Galguera and Arshak Ghalumyan

Pauline Kling
Pauline Kling is a graduate of the Master’s program in Applied Cultural Studies and Cultural Semiotics at the University of Potsdam and holds a background in Theatre, Media and Communication Studies from Freie Universität Berlin. Her work focuses on power-critical perspectives on classism, gender, and the political potential of art. She has gained curatorial experience through assistant positions at institutions such as Haus der Kulturen der Welt and Goethe-Institut London, as well as through independent and interdisciplinary exhibition projects. Pauline’s research centres on social relations, collective freedom, and the creation of spaces that foster transformative modes of togetherness.

Marco Arena
Marco Arena, born in Anzio, Italy, began his dance training at the Rome Opera House, where he graduated. At the start of his professional ballet career, he joined Ballet Nice Méditerranée, where he performed in works by Nacho Duato, Jiřà Kylián, Alvin Ailey, and Dwight Rhoden. In 2015, he became a member of the Bavarian State Ballet under the direction of Ivan Liška. In 2017, he joined the Berlin State Ballet under the direction of Nacho Duato. In Berlin, Marco danced in choreographies by William Forsythe, David Dawson, Marco Goecke, Alexander Ekman, Marcia Haydée, Victor Ullate, and many others.

Imogen Rose Walters
At the age of 15, the Australian began her professional ballet training at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow before moving a year later to the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg. There she completed her studies under Tatiana Solomianko. As a dancer with the Mikhailovsky Theater, her repertoire included classics such as the Dance of the Wilis from "Giselle," the Snowflake Waltz from "The Nutcracker," "Swan Lake" and "Coppélia". Currently she works for Deutsche Oper am Rhein.
