About the Event
DANCÆ opened the exhibition Traces of the Body at Villa Schönigen, presenting a site-responsive performance developed in direct dialogue with American artist Kylie Manning, represented by PACE Gallery. The work engaged with the visual and conceptual language of Manning's paintings, exploring visibility, bodily memory, and the representation of the human form, and was created in close collaboration with the artist.
Traces of the Body brought Manning's large-format canvases into conversation with significant works from Villa Schönigen's collection, including pieces by Marina Abramović, Anselm Kiefer, and Gustave Courbet, among others.
