About the Event
MONOM is home to the world's most advanced spatial sound instrument - built by 4DSOUND. DANCÆ will curate an evening of performances, entitled "Bodies in Sound", centered around Monom's state-of-the-art sound installation.
In this production, not only dance but also the auditory experience will take center stage. MONOM’s 4D sound system will be installed in Dannerhalle, a historic industrial complex in Berlin, built in 1927 as a groundbreaking factory for the fully automated mass production of light bulbs.
The 4D Sound offers a truly singular listening experience, allowing for an infinite number of ways in which music can be transmitted to listeners. 4D Sound Systems are spatial sound instruments with the ability to project Sound Holograms; sonic vibrations articulated through controlled dimension, position, movement, resolution, and interaction within space. This renders vivid listening areas without a ‘sweet spot’ in which sound is not heard as coming from speakers, rather, sounds appear in space as entities with a tangible physical presence, depth, and dimensionality.
This work will create something new in the performance space, taking the next step in bridging the gap between dance, technology, and music.
Aiming to break the fourth wall, this production will truly take you beyond what you have experienced with dance before.
