Artists

Known for his driving, percussive sets, Chlär represents the forefront of Europe’s new generation of techno artists. Chlär is a Swiss-born electronic music producer and DJ currently based in Berlin. He combines groove sensitivity with forward-thinking performance techniques, often improvising across multiple decks and seamlessly blending original productions into his sets. His discography includes releases on labels such as Bipolar Disorder Rec., Lobster Theremin, and Voltage, and his oeuvre reflects a strong interest in techno’s deeper, more hypnotic dimensions.

About the Event:

DANCÆ's collaboration with Chlär places sound at the center of the choreographic experience. Rather than treating music as accompaniment, the performance explores how movement can emerge through sound and how they influence one another in real time. As Chlär plays a live set, the dancers and spatial sound installation by d&b audiotechnik become extensions of his composition.

The new work by Ballet Sur_real, explores how consciousness transforms through data and algorithms, presenting AI not as dystopian or utopian but as a mirror of collective thought. It contrasts organic rhythm; breath, pulse, instinct, with algorithmic rhythm; code, repetition, pattern, questioning autonomy in an age where human cognition is increasingly outsourced, streamlined, and optimized.

An accompanying exhibition expands the project beyond the stage, translating its choreographic and sonic logic into an immersive installation format.

Installation:

d&b audiotechnik is one of the world’s leading sound system manufacturers, known for its precision, clarity, and immersive spatial technology. Its d&b Soundscape system allows sound to move freely through a space, creating the sensation of being inside the music rather than simply listening to it. Instead of a traditional left–right stereo field, Soundscape positions each sound source within a three-dimensional environment, enabling an almost sculptural experience of sound. Used in leading opera houses, concert halls, and experimental art spaces worldwide, it offers a level of detail and spatial depth that transforms listening into a physical encounter, perfectly suited to the sonic and choreographic ambitions of this project.

Ballet Ensemble

Ballet Sur_real, is the official ballet ensemble of DANCÆ, founded in 2023 by choreographers Soraya Schulthess and Renato De Leon. The ensemble’s work fuses classical ballet with electronic music, integrating immersive installations and innovative technologies into its choreographic language. Their creations draw on contemporary life while delving into the deeper psychological motives that drive human behavior.

About the Event:

DANCÆ's collaboration with Chlär places sound at the center of the choreographic experience. Rather than treating music as accompaniment, the performance explores how movement can emerge through sound and how they influence one another in real time. At moments, the physical presence of the dancers gives way to a purely auditory experience, resulting in a work that questions where movement ends and sound begins.

An accompanying exhibition expands the project beyond the stage, translating its choreographic and sonic logic into an immersive installation format.
